Hybrid Conference Services

Whether you are planning a professional event, or you are looking to schedule a meeting with your executive, hybrid conference services can help you to organize a successful and insightful session. This type of service combines the best features of online and onsite event formats, and integrates any software or software-based solution you desire. It can help you to organize an engaging, informative session with global experts and stakeholders. Using the right hybrid conference service can increase interactivity and engagement.

A hybrid conference service control architecture may utilize a combination of push and pull mechanisms to synchronize conference updates between service proxies. This architecture may enable real-time communications and fast recovery from network interruptions. The architecture may also enable the separation of the control plane from the data plane. It may utilize name-based routing and in-network storage. It may provide a reliable and scalable architecture that is suitable for real-time interactive large scale conferences.

A multi-tier hybrid conference service network may consist of one or more conference service routers 120 and a plurality of user equipment (UE) 130. Each UE may be connected to the network 180 via links 142. Each UE may be equipped with a devicelD, which is a unique UE ID. This ID may be used as the identity of a sync proxy in a remote network.

Each service proxy may maintain a digest log to record conference updates. Each digest log may contain a snapshot of theĀ hybrid conference service localized view of the conference and may include the history of FP updates by participants. Each service proxy may not participate in data plane functions, but may participate in control plane functions. These control plane functions may include synchronization messages and heartbeat messages. The control plane may also include recovery messages. A hybrid conference service control architecture may also employ a combination of push and pull mechanisms to enable synchronization of control flows between service proxies.

For instance, the control plane may contain a sync interest message, which may serve as the outstanding interest for the next conference update. A service proxy may send a sync interest message to a remote service proxy, which may send a sync update message to a participant. In response to the notification message, the service client may synchronize the conference state and may subsequently rejoin the conference. The update message may include a number of informational components, such as the FP update sequence numbers. The update message may also contain a fingerprint of the participant. A service proxy may also send a close reply message to the service client.

The control plane may also include recovery messages, which may be sent to the service client in the event of an interruption. During an interruption, the conference components may continue to send heartbeat messages, but may not receive heartbeat signals from connected components. Depending on the control plane, a service client may also receive a login message and a re-join notification message, which may include a login authorization at a login server.
